ABOUT KATHERINE

Katherine Britton Guerra was born in Sahagún, Córdoba, Colombia, and now lives with her husband, Henry, a Mexican American, and their two little girls in Maryland. Her multicultural family and life as a mother have become a beautiful source of inspiration for the stories she creates.

Katherine earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations from Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska. After working in several communication-focused roles, she discovered her passion for creating resources for children while serving in Children’s Ministries. Over the next nine years, she developed curriculum, activity books, Bible resources, and creative learning materials designed to help children discover God’s love in meaningful and engaging ways.

In 2021, after becoming a mother, Katherine discovered a new passion: writing children’s books for little readers. Inspired by her own daughters, she creates stories for children ages 0–5 that encourage curiosity, nurture a love of learning, celebrate bilingual and multicultural families, and gently point little hearts to Jesus.

Her books are written to make everyday moments meaningful; whether introducing a child’s first words in English and Spanish, celebrating family traditions, exploring God’s creation, or sharing timeless biblical truths.

Although writing is not her full-time profession, she also owns a logistics company, it is one of her greatest joys. When she isn’t writing, Katherine loves spending time with her family, exploring the outdoors, and dreaming up new stories that families can enjoy together for years to come.

“Have you ever seen a kid light up listening to a story?… that’s why I do it!”
